LULU SALE ON MY BOOKS!

Incase you haven't visited Lulu.com to check out my books, they are offering an Earth Day sale until the 27th, 16% off of your order, so definitely take advantage of that while you can if you're thinking of purchasing any of my books.

By the way, I wanted to let you know that I have removed "What Took You So Long" and "What Goes Around...Comes Around" from Lulu and put both of them into a new book, entitled: "Blood, Sweat & Tears: A Collection of Short Fiction" which is just a collection of seven of my short stories. :)

One more thing, I am 60% through proof reading Chapter Twenty-Nine of "Against Medical Advice" and it will be up on FictionPress.com soon, so check back for that!

Thanks for reading!

Great BIG and exciting news!

I am so excited to share some awesome news with you all. I'm now a self-published author. A friend on Twitter, who is a fellow self-published author gave me the source of a site called Lulu.com that lets authors like me self-publish, and can obtain actual book bound and printed copies of my own stories. Now, you, my readers can too own them too! :) Most of you probably own computers, obviously, if you're reading this, but if you don't want to go to the trouble of logging on to read them on FictionPress.com, you can buy them off of Lulu.com. The only bad thing is, you'd have to wait until the whole story is complete before you see me publish it. This doesn't mean that I'm going to stop using FictionPress.com. I will continue to post my stories there for those of you who can't afford to purchase the actual books, but for those who can, and want to have them forever, you can find and purchase them here:

http://www.lulu.com/shop/search.ep?contributorId=1081658

As you can see, I'm publishing under the author name: Amy West. For obvious reasons. ;) Plus, I hate my real last name, and use "Amy West" on Twitter anyway.

I've also made a cheaper e-book copy of "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Bane," if you'd prefer to read it digitally instead. Speaking of DJAMB, I have good news and bad news about that story. The good news is that you can read the full story in e-book form. The bad news is, I had to split it up into two volumes in paperback form because of its length. It was well over 740 pages. The first volume only goes up to chapter 25, then the second volume, picks up from chapter 26. This means that you MUST purchase the first volume before reading the second one. It angers me that the novel had to be split up that way, but there was no way around it if I wanted to get it all published.

I apologize for that, but hopefully, you love it enough to want to have both books and will purchase both which, I admit, might be a little steep for some of you, being that they will come out to over $40, not including the shipping. I tried to give you a discount on them, but not too much of a discount. I need to get some kind of revenue from my stories, and make a living somehow, sorry.

I hope that when AMA is finished and ready to be published, I won't have the same problem and have to split it up too, but it all depends on how long it turns out to be. I've never been able to write a novel that wasn't a "war and peace." LOL! That's just not how I roll. ;)

There are a couple short stories of mine that I have published on the site as well, which only run about $10 dollars in pocket paperback, so I hope you will purchase those as well.

Once again, thank you for your constant support, and I really hope you look into buying my books now. It is so awesome to see them in book form and in print. Please spread the word and tell your friends. I could use the promotion.

XOXO

A couple updates...

Just wanted to update about a couple things.

First, I have started working on Chapter Twenty-Nine, don't have an exact title for it yet until I see how long it becomes. I'll keep you posted.

Second, I updated the "Against Medical Advice" soundtrack and made a few changes, added a song and switched some around for the upcoming chapter.

I'll update again soon.

Paranormal Shivers

An icy cold breeze swept past her as she followed Zack down the narrow railed walkway, sending a chill dancing down her spine. Something was definitely not right. Something was here. Something dark, unsettling...and evil. That was the only explanation for it, because it was not cold out. In fact, it was a warm summer night. The night vision on her video camera was the only way she could see Zack, through the darkness that surrounded them as they continued toward the mysterious and foreboding looking tunnel ahead. Should she stop and tell him about the presence she just felt, or should she continue on? If anyone knew the paranormal, it was him. Suddenly, she felt a pressure on her upper back, stealing her breath and nearly stopping her heart. With desperation and panic, she cried out and thrust herself forward, rushing towards Zack in search of comfort.

A new story idea...

I updated the stories page a little while ago and added a new banner for what will possibly be my next novel, a paranormal/horror story set to be entitled: "THE FACE OF EVIL." Right now, I'm just toying around with some ideas. Nothing is set in stone yet. It's either that or an "alternate reality" tale with a storyline that mimics the show "NIKITA," only with Sarah Michelle Gellar doing it 10x better than that hoe bag, Maggie Q.

Please comment and let me know if you like either of those ideas. The full plot summary of "TFOE" is up. I'm still working on plot ideas for the alternate reality story.

Don't know when I'll start the next chapter of "AMA." To be truthful, I haven't started that one at all, but since I'm on Spring Break, I'll have plenty of time to worry about that later.

Thanks for reading!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZAK!!

I just wanted to take this post to wish a special someone who inspired me to re-cast my Zack Price character, and who I am a big fan of.

HAPPY 35TH BIRTHDAY ZAK BAGANS!!

Dear Zak,

Thank you for being my inspiration for re-casting my Zack Price character in my fiction. I know it's funny, and seems planned that you play a character in my mind with the same name (different spelling, of course), but honestly, it wasn't. I originally casted comedian Dane Cook, but then I started hating him for the person that he turned out to be, so I decided to cast actor Chris Evans, but something didn't feel right about that either. When I saw you on Ghost Adventures, I knew I made the right choice in re-casting him as you. It seemed like it was fate, being that you had the same name. I will never regret casting you as my Zack. At the moment, you are working as the manager of Amoeba music in Hollywood, California, but I have plans to make you a personal trainer, because of how hot and buff you have become. :D To show how much I appreciate you, I've also given Zack an interest in paranormal investigating, and plan to make him one of the main characters in an upcoming horror novel of mine set in a haunted location. He and my main character will be trapped from dusk until dawn, with not only a bunch of bad spirits lurking around, but also an insane serial killer. I really hope to knock it out of the park with that story, but it will be my very first paranormal themed novel, and it's because of you and your love of ghost hunting, that you have inspired me to branch out and try my hand at different genres, so for that, I thank you. You are truly an inspiration. I was a believer of ghosts before, but watching you on TV and how you conduct and go about your investigations, you have truly opened me up a lot more to the paranormal, and have motivated me even more to go out and ghost hunt more than I used to, and hopefully have my own paranormal experience. I really hope that one day, I get the chance to meet you, because you are an amazing, funny, talented and intelligent person, and have so much to offer the world and your fans. So thank you so much for inspiring me, and filling my heart with joy in all that you do! Don't ever change! :)

Lots of love,

Amy XOXO

Victor Bane's Tarot Reading...

Here is the second tarot reading that Rebecca Hamilton did for my fiction villain, Victor Bane. Enjoy! XOXO :)

Victor Bane’s Three-Card Spread

The Question:

Sit down, Victor. I hear you want to see what you’ve left behind, what you have, and what you will get. I’ve laid this out for you in a simple horizontal spread, and now I will explain to you what these cards mean…

What you Left Behind:

The World. You made big achievements in your past, but clearly that was not enough, as this was only the start of your journey.

What you Have:

The Inverted 7 of Pentacles warns you that now is the time to stop. You’ve done more than enough. You acted too soon on your whims and now your rewards will not be all they could have been.

What you Will Get:
The Inverted Nine of Wands indicated you have invested a lot in something that turned out not to be worth it. Your future is likely to be full of mistakes if you do not take pause from your actions. Revaluate. If this is not what you want, it’s up to you to change the path you are on.

Advice:
Why didn’t you stop while you were ahead? Was it greed that got in your way? At one time, you had conquered all you set out to do. But perhaps your problem is not what you have and what you do not, but rather something internal, some need for growth in who you are. It has never been lack of material things that left you dissatisfied. Your disassociation runs deeper, for you are unhappy with yourself.

Andrew Barnett's Tarot Reading...

I recently spoke with a fellow author by the name of Rebecca Hamilton on Twitter, who was nice enough to offer to do a tarot reading for a couple of my characters, so I had her do one for a lingering question in the mind of my Andrew Barnett character, and it made for an interesting read. Here it is...

Andrew’s Two Path Spread

The Question:

Should I attempt to kill Victor Bane, the criminally insane and physically abusive ex-boyfriend of my girlfriend Amy, or should I wait for the cops to take care of him?

The Set Up
For this reading, I’m using the two path spread. The first card I lay will represent where Andrew is now, the question he faces, the fork in the road. Cards 2, 3, and 4 will represent the path of choice A (killing Victor Bane) and cards 5, 6, and 7 will represent the path of choice B (letting the cops take care of him). We’ll see the benefits, downsides, and probably outcomes of each choice.

The Spread:

Card 1: Inverted Page of Swords
Card 2: Inverted The Devil
Card 3: Inverted Chariot
Card 4: Inverted Ace of Wands
Card 5: Inverted Two of Swords
Card 6: 10 of Swords
Card 7: The Lovers

The Interpretation:
Andrew, though you are brilliant and your mind is sharp, you are lacking in intellectual discipline. Whatever path you take, beware you don’t cave in to your desires to share more than you should. If someone trusts you with a secret—keep it.

There are few benefits to be had in attempting to kill Victor Bane. Look within yourself first to see if you are enslaved by your passion. At first your actions may be driven by your own free will, but taking this bath could lead you to situations you won’t be able to get out of without help. Your carnal self here is overpowering your spiritual self. This may be a close call for you in terms of resisting temptation, but it’s also possible that killing Victor Bane could lead to you being free of his destruction and the threat of danger his existence has on Amy. The danger of continuing this path is the risk of others taking control of you, or you running over everyone in your path in your haste to reach your goal. Slow down, and see what lies ahead before trampling onward. The likely outcome of this path is that you will miss out on desirable opportunities.

Standing down and allowing the police to take over is not without undesirable results of its own. This would be a difficult decision for you. Don’t allow yourself to become blinded by the stress of this decision. A choice may be made for you, instead of by you, but that may be the benefit of allowing the police lead this investigation. They may have the emotional distance that you do not to handle the situation. The downside to this path is that it may be fruitless. The situation cannot be changed, there is no fixing this. Or perhaps the reality is that, even if Victor Bane is dealt with, it will not undo the damage that has been done to Amy. The cops may be able to help you stop him from further damage but what has been done cannot be undone. For this reason, you may find the outcome dissatisfying no matter the result. Still you will find some peace in knowing it is over, and you don’t have to fight any longer. If you allow the police to do their work, the probably outcome is that you will have learned to marry your head and your heart in order to make wise, balanced decisions.

Advice:
Consider that the Chariot may also indicate that working together with the police (creating an alliance with them) might be the opportunity you will miss if you try to see this on your own.
